Leadership Training Conference 2013

The LTC is an event that takes place every year in India. Participants of this event comprise of senior leaders and student members of ASME. This event provides ASME members an opportunity to interface with each other so as to enable them to work together more closely. It also provides ASME's volunteers with leadership training, essential information for key unit and committee members and networking opportunities with peers. The 2013 LTC will be focused on the following needs of volunteer leaders:

  • An overview of the Society's organization and key initiatives and resources
  • An opportunity to share ideas and best practices with your peers
  • Leadership (including communication and project management) skills training to help members succeed in volunteer position and professional work
  • Networking opportunities with other volunteer leaders and ASME staff


The following sessions were conducted:

  • Video conference with Marian Heller, Senior programming manager of global communication who gave a presentation on the working structure of ASME and provided guidance and encouragement to the associate members. She also gave brief information about Engineer for Change (E4C) which is a social network that provides the platform to the engineers round the globe to connect and share.

  • Mr. Madhukar Sharma had spoken on the launch of latest membership model
  • The session was followed by Mr. Abhinav Gupta introduced with the structure of District G. Next was
  • Rishi Saharia explained the fuctions and strategies of ASME India student board.
  • Mr. Aditya Sharma gave a brief introduction on the revised version of asme.org Phase 2 with an aim of encouraging virtual student participation on web.
  • Mr. Dilshad Sulaiman's presentation on volunteer recruitment & participation.
  • Later Prof. Anil Gupta who gave a webinar regarding Workshop on Frugality. In this workshop, the videos related to the concept of Frugality were shown. Few students were also given the opportunity to visit IIMA based on the model/concept made on the concept of frugality.









  • The conference was brought to an end with a vote of thanks by Mr. Yash Gupta.
